Bloggers out in public should be forced to wear big badges with their blog names on them ... it's nearly too anonymous!

There was lots of other discussion at the seminar about libel and how that is starting to effect blogs ... I think that may have got unpacked a bit more after I had to slip away.Alan in Belfast (Alan Meban)https://www.blogger.com/profile/04647690758839987063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21098869.post-58220970602632430632007-11-04T13:10:00.000+00:002007-11-04T13:10:00.000+00:00Thanks for this summary - I was there, but found i...Thanks for this summary - I was there, but found it harder to distil the key points when I thought about it afterwards.Jennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05779579054897917982noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21098869.post-38930993050142020372007-11-01T10:53:00.000+00:002007-11-01T10:53:00.000+00:00Certainly - why not.I like what you did with "Ball...Certainly - why not.

I like what you did with "Ballyhackamorian".

Makes be wonder whether there could be a new children's programme called Ballyhackamory - an East Belfast-based Balamory crossed with Jackanory. That's a very interesting post indeed.

I do agree with a lot of what you say although I'm more tempted to hope that we - at some stage - will strive for deliberation and discourse to be, so to speak, independently effective. Political attention is worthless when it comes at the whim of political actors. It's actual transfers of power that we ought to be interested in.

Also, I do think - pessimist that I am - that libel can have significant disciplinary effects well beyond the victims of specific actions, and that a battle is coming for bloggers on that and other fronts.

Oh, and was it really that wordy? How sad am I that I didn't notice?!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21098869.post-42192201580276251132007-10-31T10:46:00.000+00:002007-10-31T10:46:00.000+00:00Thanks for this Alan very interesting, I have book...Thanks for this Alan very interesting, I have bookmarked your blog.Organized Rage.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07627288401631451362noreply@blogger.com
