Which Belfast Airport is Best?

Monday 22 May would have been George Best’s 60th birthday. And it’s also the day that Belfast City Airport will rename itself in honour of this East Belfast legend saint hero footballer.

Over the last week, a marquee has been built in the VIP car park in front of the City Airport terminal – which will keep Best's family, friends and celebs dry during the ceremony and nibbles afterwards.

While the precise new name has not yet been revealed, the smart money is on George Best City of Belfast Airport … though we’ll all still say that we're coming in to land at “the Harbour”.

And in an opportunist move, the Belfast International Airport (“Aldergrove”) put out a press release on Thursday entitled “Belfast International is the BEST!” referring to the International coming top in a survey run by cheapflights.co.uk.
