On a slightly related note, I've tickets for the Saturday night Amnesty International Annual Lecture - Moazzam Begg - Enemy Combatant: A British Muslim's Journey To Guantanamo And Back - one of the BT Talks at the Belfast Festival. Tickets still available if you want to attend.Moazzam was mentioned in the very challenging Guantanamo: Honor Bound to Defend Freedom play - which I caught during it's London run a couple of year's back. At that stage, he was still incarcerated in Cuba.
Looking forward ... will report back.

Went to see Patrick McCabe in the same time slot last night. A word of warning - the Spiegeltent is freezing cold at that time, having been out of use and unheated for the previous 18 hours. Bring your thermals!
...And I've now got flu-like symptoms, which came on the day after I spent two hours in a freezing Spiegeltent. Coincidence? Still, it was worth it: McCabe's new novel Winterwood is terrific - and without spoilering, seems to be another fictional treatment of paedophilia. In fact it's so damned creepy and unsettling that the sewn-in red bookmark keeps putting me in mind of a trickle of blood each time I open the book to resume reading...
