Advertising on blogs

Alan in Belfast - Christmas profile picture

Despite an email from someone who “would most definitely be able to offer [me] monetary compensation”, you’ll not be seeing a “little line of text for one year” on AiB linking to “a marketing campaign for a client that owns hotels in Spain” that “are above the fold in both personal and business travel”.

Current policy remains no Google Ads and no paid for adverts as I’m not trying to make money from blogging.

Of course, all freebies gratefully accepted, and highly likely to get honestly reviewed - good or bad!

Other people and other blogs will have different views ...

I've gotten that same email and it got an equal pinch of salt from me.

I prefer the 'freebies' than seeing a couple of £'s added to my bank account.A bit like a kid who likes what the pressie is wrapped in more than the pressie itself.

Aaawwwwhhh! Please! I was in the market for some cheap Spanish timeshare, sorry wrong term... "Holiday Club" (that's better). I was hoping to have a 2 week option on an apartment 15 miles from Benidorm which would be in the middle of a building site for the next 10 years and would cost me £3000 per year (excluding flights, transport and food), whether I used it or not.

You've just gone and ruined my dream. I hope you're proud.

I get plenty of coffee companies wanting to advertise on my blog...
