Can you tell what it is yet? BCC's new motorised pull-along bin carts?

Belfast City Council have a new motorised bin cart out on the streets - a kind of skip on wheels - that can be pulled along (power-assisted) behind someone walking up the middle of the road. Bags of commercial rubbish can then be dumped inside. Bizarre looking, but no doubt more practical than driving huge bin lorries down some of Belfast's more crowded streets!

I'm all for innovative inventions, if they work. Doubtless the refuse collectors shall have sufficient rubbish to keep them occupied.

Interesting shot and of course this is another innovative way to collect rubbish in the city centre to avoid traffic while using the big lorries.

In the time, couldn't get it focussed on the mirror ... no manual focus on the pocket camera!

They have had these in other cities for years, in fact it is a variation on the milk carts used in London about 30 years ago! They are electric carts using rechargable car batteries as far as I know. Well done BCC!
