We *are* part of The Big Word Project!

The Big Word Project - Paddy Donnelly and Lee Munroe - (image from Wired)

Not sure if it's a bid to pay off student loans, but a couple of enterprising students have come up with a wheeze that will surely make their bank managers smile all the way to the swimming pool showroom.

Paddy and Lee graduated with 1st Class Honours in Interactive Multimedia Design, 2007. In an effort to be eternal students, they now studying Masters in Multi-Disciplinary Design at the University of Ulster, Belfast.

The Big Word Project - selling words that will link to your website from theirs. A small step up from selling pixels :)

In the spirit of trying it out, I wanted a small word. After all, these local entrepreneurs profiting $1 per letter from the bought up words.

Belfast isn't (yet) in their dictionary, and in is already taken. But are wasn't.

So, there we . I'm happy so say that we part of The Big Word Project. Not quite sure why. But there we go. £1.58 well spent?

Might be worth a trip down to the Art College to get these guys to buy me a cup of tea - which unfortunately was also already taken! Though since they've been interviewed by Wired, they'll hardly be courting local bloggers ...

Hi Alan,

Cheers for the post. Nice to see some local bloggers contributing.

Cheap advertising by another name I guess, but a nice idea anyway. So I went out and bought myself a Latte

The bid word project is impressive i agree. but i had issue with the word i wanted being unavailable so i searched and looked around and found another great page called linkinword with the same principles and got the word that i wanted for the same price. you should check it out,
