Slugger O'Toole has been reporting over the weekend (along with the Sunday Life) that the image of the Orange Order's new super hero Boyne Wonder Diamond Dan was based on another artist's work. Which would have been ok if they'd paid the fee for using the image from the stock image site ...
It's all been sorted out now ... with a cheque for £86!
The original artist's name? Dan! Dan Bailey.
And the long-running £180k rebranding exercise by Belfast City Council produced a logo spectacularly similar to a Devon foodstuff producer who only "took 8 weeks to agree and cost £7K". (paragraph reworded to correct story)

I know for a fact that the committee deciding on the logo wern't happy with what was presented to them but because so much had been spent on it they felt they couldn't justify rejecting it and wasting the money!!!
Go figure
