Update - opens Saturday 20 September at 9am
That'll be the builders working in Victoria Square to create the Belfast Apple Store that's due to open at the end of the month. Expect the glaziers to arrive in a week or so. But will we get a glass staircase?
In related news, various folk who've got genius jobs in the Apple store have obviously started their training and been going around the blogosphere removing evidence of their job applications and opinions on Apple products.
Given the general lack of queues for iPhone launches in Northern Ireland, it'll be interesting to see how many fan boys and girls queue up outside on the opening day to collect their free T-shirt and goodie bag.

With a nice double height unit like that one, you'll be guaranteed a glass staircase. They're pretty much a standard feature of Apple Stores around the world, and it should look a treat in there. Hope no-one gets too carried away with the plastic on opening day :)
I really hope it's a great store can't wait for it to open the suspense is killing me. Ever time I ask the people at Victoria Square they say it will open next month, they have been saying that for the past 3. But nice to see that it's under construction and what a great location eh!

Progress continues - today I saw in behind the plastic - glass front it up and the soon to be illuminated apple sign is up there too - I cant imagine the main store fitout would take that long to complete - surely someone has a date?? I've mailed Apple to ask but not expecting a reply......

Just got this back from Apple after asking when the Store will be open. Simple question right? Apparently not - what a bunch of tossers.....

I quickly ran out of patience looking for any Belfast relevant news on there...
I was talking to the father of an employee today, His son has been employed to work on the genius bar and is currently working in Regent Street London, His son has not been given a date for opening but is in training in the radassion sas belfast with all the store team next week

I was in Victoria Square yesterday and had to take a capture a photo of the new spot. Can anyone say obvious?! With the big black box covering... hmm... could it be anything else besides an Apple logo? I think not. Just thought you'd all like to see this. Sorry for the bad, old phone, quality.
